Light Attraction

Liam and Concepta lived in a wee cottage out in the wilds of the Sperrins. One night Concepta, who was in an extremely advanced state of pregnancy, was taken sick while she was out in the barn putting the cattle in for the night.
Liam told her to stay where she was, and ran like hell to the phone box a mile down the road to phone for Dr O'Reilly.
Half-an-hour later the doctor pulled up outside the barn in his Morris Traveller, and came running in.
'Just in time,' he said. 'Get me lashings of hot water” and a candle so I can see what I'm going.'
So Liam ran and boiled the water and came running back out to the barn with a bucketful and the candle. He had no sooner arrived to the door than there was a smack and a wail.
'Congratulations, Liam said Dr O'Reilly. 'You're the father of a grand wee boy.'
Thanks be to God,' said Liam. 'I'll go into the house and get the bottle of poteen and we'll have a wee sup.'
'Wait a minute,' said the doctor. 'Just hold that candle a bit closer.'
Liam did what he was told, and a minute later there was another smack and a wail.
'Congratulations, Liam said the doctor. 'It's twins!'
Thanks be to God said Liam. 'Forget the sup. I'll bring out the whole bottle.'
'Wait a minute, said the doctor. 'Just hold that candle a bit closer.'
A minute later there was a smack and a wail.
'Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle,' said the doctor.'It's triplets!'
Thanks be to God,' said Liam. 'Forget the bottle. We'll get all the neighbours round and I we'll have a hooley!'
'Wait a minute,' said the doctor. 'Just hold that candle a bit closer.'
'I don't want to be awkward, doctor,' said Liam, 'but do you think it's this damned light's attracting them?'
