Former occupations

All the recruits were giving details of their former occupations.

'In civilian life I was a jockey,' said Murphy.

'Squad shun,' said the sergeant.

'Quick march,' he ordered.

'Squad halt!' They all stopped except the Irishman, and chaos prevailed.

'Let's do that again,' muttered the sergeant.

'Quick march!'
